《在清集》輯錄詩目共六十八題，集目題于壬戌春日（公元1922年春天或者立春之日），封面註明民國十年至十一年（公元1921-1922年）初稿。主題係出任清遠縣縣長的前後經過，但亦有言其他事項，例如國會非常會議於民國十年五月五日推舉孫中山為大總統，粵軍入廣西討伐桂系軍閥，以及自己的家庭狀況等。本網頁為其提供謄本一輯、照片三十二幅。
根據《忘機集》所記，龍思鶴從軍不會早於民國六年（公元1917年）。到了開始寫《在清集》的時候（公元1921年），他已經主管粵軍第二軍秘書事（秘書長），亦即是粵軍第二軍軍長許崇智的親信。同年許崇智命龍思鶴接任清遠縣縣長一職，以整飭當地吏治。龍思鶴以粵軍北伐大計已定，而軍部各處文案多集中秘書室，不宜遽離，所以一再推辭，但最終無法抗命，直至完成任務才與清遠父老道別，回歸部隊。由此可見，龍思鶴的取捨實以國家安危為重，而非貪戀個人仕途。當年從軍從政者倘若個個如此，民國歷史可能會改寫。
