忘機集

《忘機集》輯錄詩目共八十七題，集目題于庚申年（公元1920年），本網頁為其提供謄本一輯、照片三十三幅。

此集的主題係民國初年龍思鶴在汕頭先後興辦《民甦報》及《民聲報》的經過，但亦有言其他事項，例如粵軍重整後將材雲集，他應友人所約加入粵軍，孫中山的護法帥府改組，許崇智（汝為）再起任粵軍司令後率師援閩等。雖然此集封面及內容均未提及所記大事的年份，但寫《民甦報》出版日的敍事詩詩跋提到馮國璋在平定張勳的復辟後出任大總統，以及孫中山的護法政府成立，所以《民甦報》的創刋日期不會早於民國六年（公元1917年）七月。《民甦報》因為龍思鶴在報內鼓吹維護民國開國憲法（「臨時約法」），反對軍閥統治，結果被効忠北洋軍閥的地方政府勒令停刊，而後來興辦的《民聲報》則因為龍思鶴從軍後軍中事忙而交由陳少豪接理，報社文字緣從此了斷。由此觀之，《忘機集》記事的最後一年大概不會遲於民國九年（公元1920年），因為他的《在清集》標明是民國十年及十一年初稿（公元1921-1922年），況且《忘機集》的集目是題于公元1920年，所以其記事時段有很大機會是公元1917年至公元1920年。

龍思鶴興辦《民甦報》的時候，効忠北洋軍閥的地方政府曾經派人游說他跟隨當地官媒立場，並加以利誘，但被他婉辭推卻，此乃讀書人氣節，在《忘機集》有詩為記。又此集記「五四運動」及「新文化運動」期間，龍思鶴雖然身為古典派詩家，但主張新舊共融，各展其長，如此襟懷、遠見，與搞新舊對立者實有強烈對比。
